TwineMedia is a fully-featured personal media management web application.

Why TwineMedia and not [XYZ]?

In comparison to other, similar solutions, TwineMedia is considerably easier and rapider.

• Classic 'booru' software: older, slower, and more complex - the 'booru' model is designed to generally serve public, large communities.


• Hydrus, etc.: while regularly updated, Hydrus is confusingly overdesigned, and add to that a noticeable slowness due to Python.

Installation

You will need Java 8 or higher, PostgreSQL, and FFmpeg on your server. Installing Twine should only take you a minute.

Development began in 2019, TwineMedia now has a mature and stable code base.

There is no public roadmap for now, but great news! A TwineMedia rewrite in Rust will soon improve it all.

TwineMedia is free and open-source software (FOSS). It is released in two parts: its core - the back-end - which is published under the GNU GPL, and its interface - the front-end - published under the MIT/Expat. Twine is available under the MIT/Expat license as well.
